ESS modification

The FSA 870 Compact gives the option for an enlarged stamping area. The runnable size sheet size then extends up to 870 x 600mm /34.3" x 23.6" for board, and 855 x 600mm /33.7" x 23.6" for paper. The enlarged stamping area of 800 x 592 mm / 31.5" x 23.3” typically allows for one additional row of dies.

High Pile machine configuration

The FSA 870 Compact is also available in a high pile configuration, which allows folding carton manufacturers to work with deeper piles, reducing change times and increasing productivity.

Die-cutting equipment

High-speed die-cutting, embossing or a combination of both is made easy, using the standard die-cutting chase and make-ready plate. This multifunctional use is a benefit of the FSA 870 Compact.

Machine extensions

The standard machine can be extended by a second stamping station for hot foil stamping and blind embossing. Another possibility is to add a web sheeter or different substrate un- and rewind solutions as well as other machine components.

Visualisation and inspection equipment

Standalone or inline operation

The dedicated substrate feeding device allows for an integration in all kinds of webfed systems. An infeed and outfeed web buffering system enables a perfect synchronisation to be achieved between the platen press. It is possible to vary the infeed and outfeed substrate web speeds. The system can run with rotary, semi rotary or combination drive web presses. The press does work as a standalone with its own substrate web unwind and rewind unit or cross cutter.

Foil feeding device

The foil feeding device consists of rollers, graduated bars and brake blocks. There is a specific reference numbering to position the foil, starting from the unwinding section and reaching to the hot foil stamping unit. This system allows perfect stripe application in the longitudinal substrate web direction. Additionally, an electronic web guide system allows perfect alignment between the substrate web and the hologram stripe.

Hologram application

A rotary system carries out the hologram stripe application. Foil and substrate web are constantly unwound. The foil tension of each hologram foil web is individually adjustable. A special pressure wheels system allows maximizing the applicable number of foil webs.

Pancake or criss-cross bobbin runnable

The secure machines are able to run either Pancake or Criss-Cross bobbins. Criss-Cross bobbins allow a high production output due to the high amount of foil meters on the roll. Both kinds of foil reels are precisely controlled when feeding into the machine.

No foil waste

The stripe transferring takes place both for metallised and demetallised holograms across the whole length and the whole width of the foil surface. Immediately after the application, a suction unit removes the foil carrier film waste and thus the final product is ready for the next production step.

Gluing systems

The standard cold gluing unit applies dispersion glue on the blanks in the required shape by means of foam rubber pads on gluing wheels. Also available are high-pressure hot or cold glue spray systems.

Swing away delivery stack

The Gietz HTF machines are designed for a maximum operating comfort. Swing away delivery stacks allow optimal access to the forming stations, which enables a comfortable and quick set-up. The horizontal delivery of the completed trays simplifies the removal of erected trays at optimal height and with a minimum number of operators.

Fixed forming stations

Fixed forming stations are suitable for running repeat jobs due to the dramatically reduced setup time. Their pre-setting normally takes place at our production site in Gossau, Switzerland. Customers can also set them up on site, for which Gietz supplies the material.

Flanging Station

Enlarging the Gietz HTF 940 with a tray edge reinforcing station is quick and easy at any time. Fixed by hot glue, single or double folded reinforcement flanges are possible either on the inside or on the outside of the carton tray. This reinforces the trays for stronger resistance and better handiness. Only available for the Gietz HTF 940.
